Timer for sleeping

The lights in a Plantui indoor garden are on for 16 hours a day. After
that, the lights are switched off for eight hours. It is completely up to you to decide at which time you want the lights and the pump to be turned off.

Plantui 6: keep your hand over the light hat until the lights blink and turn off. From now on the Plantui will go to sleep at this time.

Plantui 3: press the button under the light hat until the lights blink and turn off. From now on the Plantui will go to sleep at this time.

When the lights turn on again, the pump will remain silent for another two hours. Now you can wake up with your Plantui and enjoy a peaceful morning.

The timer settings can be changed at any point by switching off the light at the desired time.

Vacation mode

When you go on a trip and need the plants to use less water and grow slower, you can use the vacation mode. Remember to trim the plants before your trip so they don’t grow up to the light source.

When the Plantui smart garden is set to vacation mode, it regulates growth by providing light at a controlled rate. The light turns purple and the intensity is considerably decreasedEven the watering frequency changes. During vacation mode the Plantui’s pump operates four times a day for one minute at a time. The device needs at least one height block for the vacation mode to work correctly.

Plantui 6: Keep you hand over the light hat for 10 seconds until the light turns purple.

Plantui 3: Press the button in the lower part of the light hat for 10 seconds until the light turns purple.

Add water and nutrients if required. NB! Do not add water above the maximum line in the bowl.

Put the device back to normal mode by passing your hand over the light hat (Plantui 6) or pressing the button once (Plantui 3).

Set-up and placement of the Plantui indoor garden

It’s easy to start using the Plantui smart indoor garden. Aside from the device, all you need are plant capsules, water and electricity. As the Plantui is based on hydroponicssoil isn’t required.

Steps for setting up the Plantui indoor garden

  1. Add water and some of the nutrientsthat came with the plant capsules in the bowl. Use one spoonful of nutrient per one litre of water.
  2. Connect the lock part with the pump. Then connect the water tray and plant tray so that the water holes match. Connect the lock part and the pump to the trays and lock them in place as indicated by the symbols (capsule tray) then put everything in the water bowl.
  3. Placethe plant capsules in their slots and remove the capsule stickers.
  4. Connect the power cord, attach the light hat and connectthe Plantui to a socket.
  5. At night before you go to bed, put your hand on the hat (Plantui 6) or press the button under the hat (Plantui 3) until the light blinks. Now the Plantui is set to sleep and it will wakeup after 8 hours and repeat the cycle until it’s changed.

Note! Pictures on the page, e.g. From the manual

NB! Make sure that the seeds are in place.

Be careful when you remove the capsule stickers. Make sure that the seeds are at the bottom of the capsule and not attached to the capsule sticker or under the edges of the “sticker label”. If the seeds are stuck on the sticker or have otherwise fallen out, you can use a knife tip or something similar to return them back to the bottom of the capsule.

Where to place the Plantui indoor garden at home

Plants could get too much sun and dry out if they are placed next to a window or on the balcony.

The Plantui smart garden is designed as an indoor garden. That’s why it needs to be placed indoors, not outside or even on the balcony. Direct sunlight along with hot or cold weather can damage the plants as well as the device.

Keep in mind during wintertime that a cold draft via window frames is also harmful for plants. The intelligent Plantui light system provides plants all the light they need. Plants growing in the Plantui device don’t require any natural light.

You should also make sure the device is placed on a level base. It’s important that all plant capsules receive an equal amount of water.

Picture: The air above a radiator or close to a cooker can be too dry.

The plants can also suffer if the air is too warm. If the Plantui is placed too close to a radiator, the warm air rises and causes the air in the device to become too dry. The same phenomenon can occur in the kitchen so you shouldn’t put the Plantui indoor garden too close to the oven or cooker (even though this might be practical place when cooking).

Where should you place the Plantui indoor garden then? Our favourite places are: on the living room table (an elegant centre-piece), in the hall (making an illuminating light feature), on the dining table (easy access to fresh herbs during meals), in the bedroom (Plantui needs sleep as much as you), in the study (bright light therapy whilst you work).

Adding height blocks

Countertops in the kitchen, bedroom and dining tables are perfect for the Plantui indoor garden.

When the plants grow taller, raise the light hat with the smart height blocks so that the plants do not touch the light source. Add the first height block when the plant has grown up to the rim of the seed capsule. A new height block is added always before the plant reaches the light hat.

You can also cut the plant shorter so a height block is not always necessary. The technology inside the height block can automatically change the settings of the Plantui device to respond to the plants’ needs during each phase of growth. Separate boosting and blooming light blocks are available as accessories. These will further enhance the growth and well-being of the plants.
